All include the platform. Free's managed machine is a **one-time trial**; Pro's managed machines are billed per machine, with the price shown before ordering. All plans include the full Akua platform: marketplace, products, private registries, custom dashboards, CLI, and API access. Enterprise pricing is agreed by contract. Cloud provider charges are separate. Pro compute limits are safety ceilings, not included machines. The platform subscription, AI allowance and machine charges are separate. Prices are net; VAT is added at checkout. The free Akua-managed machine is a one-time trial. See [Free tier](#free-tier). ## Free tier The free tier includes a managed cluster, the full platform, and **one Akua-managed VM trial**. That's enough to run a small production app, sell through the marketplace, and serve real customers. No credit card required. The Akua-managed machine is a one-time trial, not a monthly allowance: each stable Akua account gets exactly one free Akua-managed VM, ever, across every workspace and organization it creates. This is a lifetime grant, not a per-workspace or per-billing-period reset. **Trial hosting:** the trial machine runs for {billingPlans.free.limits.machineTtlDays} days, then pauses. See the [trial recovery policy](/compute/machines#free-tier-machine-lifetime) for retention and resuming on Pro. You'll receive [notifications](/platform/notifications) before it pauses. The trial does not renew. Deleting the trial machine, its cluster, workspace, or organization releases the occupied slot but never restores the trial. There is no way to get a second free Akua-managed machine on the same account. To keep running Akua-managed compute after your trial, [bring your own cloud key](/clusters/add-workers) or upgrade to Pro. Other usage meters have their own reset schedules; they are separate from the one-time machine trial. Read your current allowances from [Quotas](/platform/quotas). ## Pro tier Pro has no trial expiry. Managed machines are billed separately while they run, with the price shown before ordering. Its compute limits are safety ceilings. The policy beside the plans explains the separate AI allowance and included extra room. ## Bring your own cloud key Connect your own cloud provider API key (for example, a Hetzner Cloud token) and **compute quotas don't apply**. You pay the provider directly at their published rates; Akua manages the Kubernetes lifecycle with no markup on infrastructure costs. This works on every plan, including Free. Cluster quotas still apply since Akua manages the control plane regardless of where your workers run.
